Lake Mburo National Park is Uganda's smallest savannah park, an ideal stopover between Kampala and western Uganda's gorilla and chimp circuits.
Open grassland and acacia woodland support zebra, impala, eland, buffalo, leopard and over 350 bird species. Lake Mburo itself offers boat trips among hippos and waterbirds.
