Murchison Falls National Park is Uganda's largest protected area, where the mighty Nile squeezes through a seven-metre gorge and plunges 43 metres in a thunderous spectacle visible from viewpoints and boat cruises.
Open savannah and riverine forest support elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard, giraffe and hippo. Boat trips to the base of the falls and delta cruises offer superb wildlife viewing and birding.
The park pairs easily with rhino tracking at Ziwa Sanctuary en route from Kampala, making it one of Uganda's most complete safari destinations.
